Plant Plan
Background
Plant Plan hadn’t had a CPD programme for years. As part of a renewed focus on the specification market, they set out to launch a fresh, high-impact suite of CPDs that would position them as a knowledgeable, relevant voice in the built environment, not just a planting supplier. The aim: build credibility, spark conversations, and get specified.
Topic Selection
We worked with the Plant Plan team to identify the most valuable topics from a specifier’s point of view, balancing commercial opportunity with educational value. After an extensive research process, we shaped a four-part programme:
– Planting Fundamentals
– Biophilic Design Principles
– Designing for Biodiversity
– Designing for Neurodiversity
Further CPDs are now in development as the programme gains momentum.
Technical Drafting
Plant Plan had very little existing content to build from, so each CPD required deep technical research. We drew from academic studies, guidance such as the WELL Building Standard, LEED, BREEAM and PAS 6463:2022, and design best practice to create CPDs that were rich in substance, not sales.
Design
The CPDs were designed in Plant Plan’s new brand identity, which was still in development at the time. As a result, our design work helped push the brand forward, setting the tone for typography, layout, iconography and image treatments across future materials. The result: a sharp, confident look that’s easy to update and expand as the programme grows.
Outcome
In under a year, the new CPD series has been delivered over 90 times to a combined audience of more than 1,000 attendees. The sessions consistently spark follow-up conversations, bringing in new relationships, leads, and opportunities. They’ve become a cornerstone of Plant Plan’s specification strategy, and there’s more to come.
